Refund and Returns Policy

We want you to be satisfied with every order from yourbuildingsupplies.com. If something is wrong with your order, this page explains how to return it and what to expect.


Return Window

You have 30 days from the date of delivery to request a return.

After 30 days, we are unable to accept returns or issue refunds.

Note: Due to the nature of building materials, we cannot accept returns on items that have been cut, mixed, opened for use, or installed. Please double-check your measurements and quantities before ordering.


Items That Cannot Be Returned

The following items are final sale and cannot be returned under any circumstances:

  • Mixed or tinted paint and coatings
  • Cut lumber or sheet goods
  • Spray foam (once nozzle is attached)
  • Cement, concrete mix, or mortar (once opened)
  • Special order products ordered specifically for you
  • Clearance or final sale items (marked at time of purchase)
  • Any item marked “Non-Returnable” on the product page

How to Start a Return

Step 1 Contact Us
Email us at info@yourbuildingsupplies.com or use our contact page within 30 days of delivery. Include:

  • Your order number
  • The item(s) you wish to return
  • The reason for the return
  • Photos of the item if it is damaged or incorrect

Step 2 Receive Return Authorization
We will review your request and reply within 1–2 business days with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and return instructions. Do not ship items back without an RMA number. Unrequested returns cannot be processed.

Step 3 Ship the Item Back
Pack the item securely in its original packaging where possible. Write your RMA number clearly on the outside of the box. Ship to the address provided in your RMA confirmation.

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item was damaged, defective, or incorrect due to our error.

Step 4 Receive Your Refund
Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will process your refund within 5–7 business days. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.


Restocking Fee

A 15% restocking fee may apply to returns of opened but unused items in resalable condition. This fee covers inspection, repackaging, and restocking.

No restocking fee applies if:

  • The item was defective or damaged on arrival
  • We shipped the wrong item
  • The item is being exchanged for a different product

Damaged or Defective Items

If your order arrives damaged or you receive the wrong item:

  • Contact us within 48 hours of delivery
  • Provide your order number and photos of the damage or incorrect item
  • Do not discard the original packaging

We will send a replacement or issue a full refund at no cost to you, including return shipping.


Refund Processing

  • Refunds are issued to your original payment method only
  • Credit card refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank
  • We do not issue refunds in cash or by cheque
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error

Exchanges

We do not process direct exchanges. If you need a different product:

  1. Return the original item following the process above
  2. Place a new order for the correct item

This ensures the fastest turnaround for getting you the right materials.


Large Freight Items

For large items shipped by freight (lumber, drywall bundles, roofing, concrete):

  • Inspect before signing note any visible damage on the delivery receipt
  • Do not refuse delivery unless the damage is severe, contact us first
  • Returns of freight items require special arrangements and may incur freight return costs
  • Contact us within 48 hours if freight items arrive damaged
